The Supreme Court chooses life
PoliticsThe United States Supreme Court today upheld the ban on Partial Birth Abortions. Good for them!
I'm amazed how such a barbaric procedure is still in use today, and even more amazed that anyone would be in favor of such a procedure.
What cracks me up is that if a mother that is pregnant is murdered
, the person that killed her can be charged with two counts of murder, yet a mother can voluntarily go abort their baby without any criminal charges being filed. Especially in Late Term Abortions. Scott Peterson is a good example of this. He was convicted for the murders of his wife Laci and their unborn child.
According to Wikipedia a Partial Birth Abortion is defined as:
|
“ |
An abortion in which the person performing the abortion, deliberately and intentionally vaginally delivers a living fetus until, in the case of a head-first presentation, the entire fetal head is outside the body of the mother, or, in the case of breech presentation, any part of the fetal trunk past the navel is outside the body of the mother, for the purpose of performing an overt act that the person knows will kill the partially delivered living fetus; and performs the overt act, other than completion of delivery, that kills the partially delivered living fetus. |
” |
If the fetus is able to live, why would you want to kill it? Their are people alive, today, that were born prematurely at 24 weeks of gestation, that are perfectly normal functioning members of society. Like this kid. This kid was born in 1993, and the technology has progressed in the last 14 years to where I'm sure they can help premature babies that are born even younger.
What really bothers me about this whole topic is the fact that their are hundreds, if not thousands of wonderful loving married couples out there that would jump at the chance to adopt these kids, if they had a chance to.
